The 2019 National Book Festival was a day to remember! See photos, videos, and more on the Library of Congress National Book Festival blog.
COSLA was pleased to support the attendance of State Libraries, Centers for the Book, and Humanities Councils at the 19th Annual National Book Festival held August 31, 2019, at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
The National Book Festival, organized by the Library of Congress, brings together best-selling authors and book fans for author talks, panel discussions, book signings, and a variety of activities for children and families. For the 10th year, COSLA promoted participation in the Festival including financial and facilitation support for travel and materials development. This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services RE-00-18-0135-18.
Each state in attendance had a table within the Parade of the States on the lower level of the Washington Convention Center. States provided information on key programs within their library communities, highlight their local authors, and many states give away fun keepsakes like bookmarks, coloring pages, stickers, and magnets. It was a busy but wonderful day, sharing our love of libraries with everyone who visits.
