eRate Forum Objectives

We will review the ins and outs of eRate, share information on the services we provide to assist our libraries, and network with our peers to build a solidarity of purpose and expertise that will help us navigate E-rate's rapidly changing and often frustrating landscape together.

  • Cat 1, Cat 2, BEAR, SPI, SPIN, CIPA, PIA, USAC, SECA? Overwhelming to new staff
  • Cybersecurity, hotspots, NPRMs, ongoing legal challenges? Hard for even the most seasoned veteran to keep up

And yet, our libraries are depending on us for guidance and help with all these eRate topics and more! Or we are depending on consultants to handle this without enough understanding of the program to know how effectively they are helping our libraries.

The time is now to strengthen our basic understanding of both the eRate program and our varying roles as state coordinators to help our libraries access this important source of funding for vital internet access on behalf of their communities.
